Dharriwaa Elders Group invited Walgett's ACCOs (Aboriginal Community-Controlled Organisations) to meet the newly arrived Acting General Manager of Walgett Shire Council, Paul Mann, to morning tea 16 August 2018. He was introduced to the the CEOs of DEG, Walgett Aboriginal Medical Service and their respective Chairs. DEG's Secretary Virginia Robinson gave Mr Mann a formal Welcome to Country. A quiet discussion proceeded, in which the organisations expressed their vision for a future working relationship with Walgett Shire Council. Mr Mann made encouraging comments, however expects to be working in Walgett for a maximum of 3 months.
